Sidmouth's Boxing day swim 2013.
Locals will once again be braving the cold waters of Sidmouth in the annual tradition that is the Boxing day swim!
The swim started around 1985 and has been describe as a means of revival from the excesses of food and drink on Christmas day, and you can be sure of a shock when you hit the icy water.
The Sidmouth Regatta Committee organise the event in conjunction with the Sidmouth Lifeboat to ensure that the event is well looked after.
All entrants are asked to sign up and congregate in front of the Sailing Club at the east end of the esplanade from around 10:30am to show off their fancy dress. The main event starts at 11:00am until as long as you can stand the temperatures!
Only the brave dare to leap into the cold waters!!
Fancy dress and a winter dip this boxing day at 10:30am on the esplanade!
