The town says farewell to the shop after 23 years.

Carlton Leworthy and Chris Taylor of C&C Electrical have taken the decision to close their incredibly successful business after 23 years of trading. The time came to call it a day as trade began to be affected and felt it was time to end their long run after making a name for themselves in Sidmouth and the surrounding areas for it's excellent service.

With Carlton's years of experience in TV, video and radio sales and Chris' expertise as a long running Hoover engineer they decided to get together and open the shop in 1990, during a recession. For years to come many people would simply pop to 'C&C' for whatever they needed. This would be for white and brown goods, small appliances, components, servicing, spares and repairs and lighting. Through the years they have even fixed wheel chairs, stair lifts, kids toys hundreds of miles of Christmas lights and a false leg! They always did like a challenge it would seem.

The shop has not seen many staff members, with Carlton and Chris always at the heart of the business throughout it's lifetime. Just 4 extra staff over the 23 years has been all they needed to run it successfully. They have been supporting the town ever since and the town's people supporting them back. The shop has sponsored numerous events, seen Christmas raffles and always displayed an impressive Christmas window each year which would be the first thing lighting up the main road into the town.

After 23 years of successful trading it's now time for the two to call it a day and retire the shop through their own decision. The business as C&C Electrical will not be carrying on, however Carlton will be continuing individually in and around the area providing a service for small repairs on such things as table lamps and also to re-tune TV's, videos and radios etc.

For now though, we say farewell and a massive congratulations to Carlton and Chris for their success and help they have brought to the town of Sidmouth as C&C Electrical.
